WEEK 15-18 - Making Final Report And Submitted


  • After done the presentation day, now all FYP students must completing their Final Report and submitted before week 18 of S1'2013 (23 MAY 2013)

  • The submitted of this Hard Covered Final Report to the Resource Centre are mean that end of FINAL YEAR PROJECT!

WEEK 14 - Preparation And Presentation


  • Design the poster for Presentation Day.

  • Do some preparation for FYP presentation day.
  • Finally in this week, student should present all of work done to judges. The objective is to show what are student had learn around 1 year doing research of project.

WEEK 13 - Combined Mechanical And Electrical's Part.


  • After been a couple of week I had construct the circuit, now in this week, I combined together all both part, Mechanical and Electrical.
  • After attached the electrical's part to the mechanical's part, I doing 1st running, and it successfully.

WEEK 12 - Making Motor


  • At the first, I planned to build the motor for generate an output 12V DC by myself.
  • By using copper coil and perspex, I start the progress of making the motor.

  • But, unfortunately we failed! Because after test running and do some troubleshoot, the output of ampere from this motor is to low and not compatible for charging the battery.
  • So, I decided to exchange this motor to car alternator.

WEEK 11 - Continue Construct And Combine The Circuits


  • Like I said last week, we probably cannot be done constructing for the second circuit.
  • Its not a big deal, we continued in this week.
  • And finally we done at last.
  • After done making both circuit, we combined it together with transformer that we had buy on week 9.


Here I give a simple explanation about my circuit. For making Mini Hydroelectric Generator operate properly, it need 2 circuits that is a 'Charging Controller' and 'Inverter', then need 1 unit transformers.
  • Charging Controller Circuit = to stabilize an output 12v DC current from motor and charge the battery for the power storage.
  • Inverter Circuit = to convert the DC to AC
  • Transformer = to increase the level of current voltage (it need for making an output of 240V from plug)

WEEK 10 - Construct The Circuit


  • After got all the components and equipment, this week I will start to construct the circuit.
  • With a help from some friend, will make me an easy doing progress of making circuit.
  • Starting with constructing the 'Inverter Circuit'.
  • Then continue with 'Charging Controller Circuit'
  • For this week, we do more focus on making Inverter Circuit, because its more complicated.
  • Maybe for the Charging Controller Circuit will be done on next week.

WEEK 9 - Purchased Components (Electrical's Part)


  • After done listing all the components needed, this week I decided went to Jalan Pasar again for searching and buying the components.
  • Lucky me because all the components that been listed:
  1. relay
  2. rechargeable battery
  3. toogle switch
  4. transformer
  5. LED
  6. capacitor
  7. resistor
  8. voltage regulator
  9. 555 timer
  10. transistor
  11. preset resistor
  12. PCB board
  13. ect....
          are founded and available at Jalan Pasar and easy for me to purchase.

WEEK 8 - Research On Components (Electrical's Part)


  • After been doing research on the circuit that want to use for this project on last week, i had listed the component that needed for construct the circuit.
  • The circuit needed for this Mini Hydroelectric Generator is the 'Inverter Circuit', 'Charging Controller Circuit' and 1 unit transformer.

WEEK 7 - Research On The Circuit


  • After done about 60% progression of mechanical's part, I think I should do more focus on my electrical's part.
  • Starting with do some research on the circuit that been needed for making an electrical's part.
  • From my research, to operate my project starting water flow for rotating turbine, then to the output 240V, it need 3 stage of circuit. 
  • 1st stage, from turbine, it will generate the motor to produce 12V of DC current, to charging the battery. At that stage, the circuit needed is 'Charging Controller Circuit'.
  • 2nd stage, from the 12V DC current output of battery, it need to convert to AC current. This stage, the 'Inverter Circuit' needed to convert DC-AC.
  • 3rd stage is about to increase the value of AC current to be an output of 240V. So it need the transformers.

WEEK 6 - Designing The Mechanical's Part


  • After done designed turbine in previous week, this week I focus to designing mechanical's part.

WEEK 5 - Designing Turbine


  • One of the most important part in my project is turbine.
  • The rotation or turbine will generate the motor for produce the current.
  • the design of the turbine is base on the sample that I been research.

WEEK 4 - Purchased Components (Mechanical's Part)


  • Looking for components at Jalan Pasar.
  • Components use is the important thing to make circuit or project operate.
  • Selection of main component should have in a market because some component needs to order from other company such as bearing type 'pillow block'. Only certain shops have it.
  • So by listing all the components used first will make easy to find and design the project

WEEK 3 - Research On The Components (Mechanical's Part)


  • Starting doing research on the components that being used in my project...
  • My project "Mini Hydroelectric Generator" is about how the water energy can produce an electricity.
  • So for build on my project, there's got 2 part, which is Mechanical's Part & Electrical's Part.
  • For this week, I need to focus on part of mechanical.

WEEK 2 - FYP2 Briefing


  • This is a first briefing for S1'2013, which is all students (FYP1&2) has been briefed about the blog, date of presentation, and so on. 
  • For students FYP2, they have to proceed for their planning during in FYP1. 
  • All the planning have to come out with the hardware. 
  • The presentation will be on week 12 for FYP1 and week 14 for FYP2. 
  • As a result,the students have been exposed to the project planning.
  • The good planning will give a quality result in this project and it is very important. 
  • So all FYP2 students this should be done their project 100% before week 14.
